What we collect

Account data: your email address (for magic-link sign-in) and a user ID.Analysis data: the URL you submit, the optional context you add (product name, market, competitors, goal), the reports we generate for you, and technical job metadata.Usage data: aggregate, non-identifying metrics like feature usage counts.

What we don't collect

No passwords (magic links only), no payment card data (handled entirely by Polar, our merchant of record), no third-party ad trackers, and no analytics cookies unless you accept them in the cookie banner.

What we do with it

Account and analysis data exist to provide the service: run your analyses, store your reports, and enforce your plan quota. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your report content to train models.

Sites we analyze

When you submit a URL, our crawler fetches that site's public pages — like a search engine would. We identify ourselves with a descriptive user agent and respect standard technical limits (timeout, page-size caps, few pages per site).

Retention & deletion

Your reports stay in your account for as long as it exists. If you delete your account, we delete your reports, jobs and account data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

Your rights

You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data at any time (GDPR/EU residents: this is your Art. 15/17 right). Contact us and we will comply within 30 days.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 — but only after you click Accept in the cookie banner. It shows once, the first time you visit, and you can accept or reject it. If you accept, Google sets _ga cookies to distinguish anonymous visitors (no personal profiles, and Google Analytics reports never include your IP address). If you reject, no Google Analytics code loads at all. You can change your choice anytime via Cookie preferences in the footer — rejecting again deletes the analytics cookies. Your Accept/Reject choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.

Processors

Marketwise relies on: Supabase (accounts, database, edge compute), Polar (payments, merchant of record), and AI/research providers (report generation, live web research). All process data only on our instructions.
